We had the pleasure of Featuring multi-talented artist Erick Nathan in our April Issue.
Erick Nathan encompasses a dizzying amount of talent not often seen in the entertainment business. This choreographer/dancer is also a singer, rapper, proficient songwriter, and respected producer. In addition to Erick’s musicianship, he is an actor, host, emcee, and DJ, proving that he can just about do it all.
Nathan hightailed it out to Los Angeles after graduating high school in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He was immediately booked for high profile shows, such as “An Evening With Stars: Tribute To Smokey Robinson,” where he danced and appeared on stage with Stevie Wonder, Joss Stone, and Heather Headley.
Appearances on Nickelodeon TV shows“Victorious” and “iCarly” followed, along with a stint on “Your Momma Don’t Dance,” a reality dance competition show on Lifetime. Nathan’s performances on this show scored him a mention in People magazine. Following E danced in a spoof of “Glee” on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and was featured in Nintendo Wii’s “Just Dance 2 and 3” television commercials.
Nathan’s singing talent and performance experience drew the attention of many in L.A., and he was approached to become a member of a new boy band that was just being formed called Skyline. They opened for El DeBarge and Babyface on Jamie Foxx’s “Foxxhole” show, which was broadcast on SiriusXM Radio. Skyline also headlined for “Grad Night” at Walt Disney Land, California.
After moving to Atlanta in 2012, Nathan who is an internationally award-winning choreographer, continued to pursue his love of dance and choreography and began teaching classes in hip hop, contemporary, jazz,partnering, and ballet at various studios across the city. Based in Atlanta, he’s been flown all over the country, and is still in high demand for his talents on the west coast, choreographing for hit Nickelodeon TV shows like Henry Danger & acting as one of the main characters, “Walter the Fox” in a TV series for children called The Party Animals. Additionally, he performs as a host and emcee while also teaching Master Classes for Dance/USA across the US.
His passion for music led him to create his own mobile DJ and entertainment production company called DJerock Productions. Under this banner he DJ’s and hosts, along with producing music for artists in L.A., Nashville and Atlanta, creating everything from mega-master mixes to mixed music for live shows and sports arenas. His mixes and music have had incredible reception with radio stations and events all across the country.
This amazingly versatile musician, who also plays the drums and the guitar, launched his solo career as a recording artist in 2014. He was among the Top 8 finalists in Atlanta’s singing competition entitled “Sing For Your Life” but had to bow out after he was chosen for the cast of a national tour called FMA Live! Sponsored by NASA & Honeywell, an interactive,traveling hip hop concert for students that inspires them to explore science, technology, engineering and math careers. He completed 5 national tours with FMA Live! in 2016. He then left the tour when he was asked to open up for Fetty Wap at UGA for a sold-out crowd of 10,000, preforming his own original music. In 2016, he had the opportunity to open for other talented artists such as Dustin & Genevieve Ahkoui, Aaron Carter, & Daya.
Nathan also performed in the GA Lottery halftime show for the Atlanta Falcons during one of the final games of their regular season before they went on to Super Bowl 51. His debut EP, entitled “Ready Or Not” which released in August of 2015, is available in all markets and places where music is streamed or sold. Erick Nathan is signed to Atlanta-based independent record label BSE.
