Our Review of MacPaw’s Gemini #DuplicateFiles #CleanUp #ComputerCare

Gemini is another great software by the MACPAW team.

Do you have a lot of duplicated files? Maybe you’re like me and download multiple files on accident and instead of deleted the duplicates you just leave them there and have a desktop full of pointless duplicates. We're sharing screenshots to help you see what the process is through using the software!

In our fields, we have a lot of duplication design, photography, publishing, etc. Gemini will help eliminate some of the extras that you don’t need. One of the great things I love about MACPAW is when you purchase their software you also get free updates that truly help the functionality of everything.

It’s very simple to use Gemini almost as simple as the drag, drop and click feature. Gemini Uses a color code pie chart when it finds duplicates. Those duplicates are sorted by size, and you can trace the location of the original file and the duplicate to remove it or you can allow Gemini to auto select duplicates, but if you’re like me you’d rather trace them to make sure the duplicate didn’t serve a purpose.

When deleting files Gemini has several safeguards, Instead of automatically deleting duplicates you flag them that once the selection is made you can remove them from the window. This opens another panel that asks you to review your selections before proceeding. If you’re ready to delete the files select remove once more and it will shred those files in a dramatically satisfying visual effect. Even then your file isn’t deleted until you empty your trash bin. What I love is that you can check the removed files and you have the option to put selected files back or you can simply select to put them all back!
